It was definitely a blue scene kind of thing in Austin Sunday evening. Just the typical Austin benefit - $15 to see Leeann Atherton, the Antone's House Band, Malford Milligan, Derek O'Brien, Marcia Ball, Mike Keller, Doyle Bramhall, C.C. Adcock, Jimmy Vaughn, James Cotton, Hubert Sumlin, Omar Dykes, and Joe Ely (well, okay; so, I petered out at 11:00 PM, and there are no photos of Joe).The show and silent auction are examples of the best and worst of Austin. We are quick to rally to aid musicians and others when in need, but sadly they are in need way too often.
HAAM day is tomorrow. Buy some food, drop some money in the jar. Help a friend...
I was hoping to put up a show and give the proceeds to HAAM. Running late, but if you catch me in October, anything you buy adds to my HAAM kitty. Speaking of HAAM, time to eat some Ham...at the jam. If you know what I mean on this first Monday of the month.
